Photograms & Rayographs
A photogram is a photographic image without using a camera it is simply made by placing objects on the surface placing towards a light. sensitive material such as photographic paper, then exposing it to the light. the usual result is a shadow image that shows variations in tone. areas of the paper that has had no light stays white.
The technique is usually called cameraless photography. It was used by Man Ray in his exploration of photographic processes..
Anna atkins created photograms like images exposed to light then rinsed in water rayograms\photograms are abit like cyanotypes but using different chemicals. rayograms are the result of experimenting in the dark room were chemicals are used to activate the image which is then washed in water.
Darkroom chemicals
The main chemicals used in the dark room is the developer, which produces the silver iodide of the surface emulsion to darken if it has been exposed to the light. a chemical to stop the whole process is called a stop bath.

My First Photogram.
My first photogram was OK but it was my first try so I had never experienced this before so it was just a do it then find out what happens, where as the second attempt I knew what I was doing.
What went well was the objects were I placed where I wanted them. It was blurry but the objects came out clearly so I'm pleased with the result.
My Second Photogram.
My second attempt worked out a lot better because I thought about the objects I was using and where I placed them. Also I was a lot more focussed on what I was doing.
If I did photograms again I would focus on the objects I was using, making them about me, instead of the ones that were optional to use, because then it would describe me more.
